PostSubject: OBSCURE: The Aftermath   Tue Mar 23, 2010 9:13 pm

Well folks i found a new Horror game thats very origional. Here's the kicker, IT'S TWO PLAYERS!!!

Two years after an insane principal at Leafmoor Highschool used his students as test subjects for an experiment, life for the survivors is getting relatively back to normal. A few have gone on to continue their shatterededucation at Fallcreek University. They are living the typical college life, parties, sex, late night exam crams. Recently a new red flowr has started to grop on campus and students found ou if you sniff it or drink it as a tea it gives you an amzing high and very vivid dreams. But when the flowers finnaly bloom black spors fill the air and those drems become living nightmare as student who has inhaled the plant or had unprotected sex with ones who have become monsters! You and your fellow co-eds are invited to a party at Delta Theta Gamma when all hell breaks loose. Now it's up to you to discover who's behind this madness and escape alive.

You work in 2 person teams between 7 characters, each character has thier own skill such as Acrobatics which allows the character to jump up to certai places and pull their teamates up with them. Also ther Hacking and Picklocking which are VERY HARD to do. Unlike other games where picking a lock rquires you to mash buttons or do a few simple clicks you have to slide your tool through specific openings and move locks up and down to finally open a door, making each locked door a puzzel in its own.

The actual game puzzels start off fairly simple, but later on unless your very skiled at noticing VERY subtle clues you will proly not be able to solve them without online aid. I sat down and got hooked on this game and beat it in one sitting in about 9 hours, without online aid.

You get about 13 different weapons including, an electric chainsaw and tazer you must charge up at voltage boxes, melee weps, and "flash" weapons that stun your enemy. You only find about 5 weapons in the game storyline the rest are completely optional which you must accquire by using your wits to find these small keys to locked boxes.

Ammo is a huge issue in this game. Unlke other games where you canstock up on ammo in this game you must use your guns if you expect to find more ammo. As in there are crates that when you bust open will sometimes give you random ammo depending on what gun is low. There is very few "set" ammo pickups.

The game play is really awesome even on 1 player. You team mate will use whatever weapon is best suited for the situation other then mindlessly doing nothing and blowing away shells. And with all the different challenges this game presents you will constaly be adapting to your situation. I suggest holding the shotgun and letting the teamate hold the tazer and pistol. The game is very dark so you may need toup the brihgtness on your screen but that will add away from the horror factor if you do (i only uped it when i was stuck)

The storyline is confusing at first but as you get about 2 hours in it becomes AMAZING! Once you beat the game dont turn of your console till after the credits role if you dont want to truely solve the mystery of Delta Theta Gamma ;)

Only real flaw, no harder dfficulty. So the replay value is low.

Final scores:
Boss fights 9.25 / 10
Puzzles 10 / 10 (yup if you suck at puzzles your SCREWED in this game)
Gameplay 8.75 / 10
Storyline 9.75 /10

Demon's Overall Score: 9.5 / 10

This is a sequel to the firstgame i never played but after playing this one i'm totally gonna look it up!

here's a tip. healing items are your mst scarce resource, i found out though once you ge a melee wep bust open vending machines. I didnt find this out till about half way thorugh the game and by then i passed up 80% of the machines and had to seriously ration my meds.

complained? Blasphamy it was amazing Angry

Not to mention my description of it didnt completely ruin all the great parts in the game's storyline like your rant did. Which is why i edited your post. Just trying to keep the game interesting for members who want to play it. Nothing ruins a survival game like knowing how it will end Tongue

This game is for Horror/Puzzle game enthusist. Honstly if you love Silent Hill but wish it were Co-op this is the perfect game for you then.

I have this game on PSP. I loved it, but the puzzles were really easy. You must be crazy giving them a 10/10 difficulty. The only puzzle I didn't solve instantly was the door near the end, with the rotating circles, because I didn't know whether to align the circles from the outside in, or inside out.

Hacking? All you have to do is think "famous person" and look at the letters. Lockpicking? There's multiple solutions. The thing Amy does where she put pieces of paper together? ...No comment if you can't do those...

Also, I didn't know you could bash vending machines. No wonder I never had any energy drinks.

Also, I liked how the ending wasn't the ending, and you could keep going.

you gotta admit you gotta use your brain 85% of the time in the game. And the lockpicking system was a work of art compared to the silplicity of other games with lockpicks in them.

It takes awhile to find what you need to complete puzzles such as a little spec of a clue. I had the game pretty dark when i played like the brightness was only visible enough so i could see the path, but not so bright to where i sould see all my surrounding which added to the difficulty Tongue

im not gonna spoil any of the puzzles but you got to admit once you reach the halfway point if your not good at games like silent hill you'd be scratching your head long and hard.

Silent Hill 3 extreme had the hardest puzzles.

Seriously. How was I to know the number pad was supposed to represent a head?

Oblivion lock picking is the closest thing I've seen to real lockpicking.

you talking about elder scrolls oblivion? I'd never play that game. An MMO thats not an MMO. Sounds like a huge waste of time

Oblivion was pretty great if you set the difficulty to easy and ran around murdering everything. =D

It had an assload of flaws, but back in 2006, it was like Jesus.

now i definilty dont want to touch ES: Oblivion.

I just hate how you spend like 200+ hours on a game and basically have no one to show it too.

Which is why i prefer final fansty you spend like 50 hours on a game with a great story, beat it, move on

Agreed. I either like an awesome-and-short console game (Dead Rising) , or an epically long MMO (Maplestory).

Not an epically long console game (DAO and Oblivion, though it was great for random killing)

And not an awesome-and-short MMO (Guild Wars)
