I'd say that I'm embarrassed to comment on this so late after the fact, but honestly Capcom
should feel even more embarrassed (more on that in a sec) On the 11`th of this past March,
the resident evil series turned 15 years old. We've had good times and we've had bad. We've
laughed, we've cried, we've jumped out of our seats and pissed ourselves in fear and most
importantly we've killed a lot of zombies and B.O.W's.

We saw the birth of a new genre of game that did something no one thought could be done:
be genuinely scary! Everything about the game was designed to touch upon our deepest of
primordial fears, from the creepy old mansion, the haunting music, the nightmarish enemies,
wove beautifully together to create a dreadful atmosphere that sucked you in and stayed
with you even after you turned the game off.

We saw this series hone its skills through the course of 3 sequels that seemed to only get
better and better with each subsequent title, something that not many other series can boast
about. We've also watched the series as it fanned out attempted to bring its unique style to
other genres of games such as FPS's and MMO's with varying degrees of success.

While I hate the departure from what made the previous games unique, I can't deny the
outstanding success of Resident Evil 4 and 5. The change in camera styles in the 4`th game
are a welcome and refreshing change to the previous titles, and though its more action/shooter
than survival horror, the fights are much more intense and enjoyable. The 5`th installment took
all of what was great with the previous title and doubles it with the introduction of co-op game play,
a much welcome addition to the series. Previous titles experimented with co-op in the Outbreak
series, but lacked the finesse that the 5`th game enjoyed. All in all, the Resident Evil series has
been a huge success and remains one of Capcom's flagship titles.

You're probably wondering what this is leading up to, right? Well, it's a collectors set that's coming
out later this month. The set features a styleish collectors box, Resident Evil Directors Cut, 2, 3,
and Resident Evil: Survival Selection, the HD release of Code Veronica and 4, but that isn't all.
It comes with the sound track for Code Veronica and 4, stickers and pins featuring the S.T.A.R.S
and Umbrella logos. Rough estimate on price will be about $95 bucks.

They're the Playstation originals. The remake never sported the "director's cut" moniker, and
if you look closely at the image you'll see 2 Resident Evil 2 disks, one for Leon and the other
for Claire. The "original" Re2 is worth the bundle alone.
